Beneficial effects of Bacillus subtilis DSM 29784 on performance and gut health status of broilers under necrotic enteritis conditions
16 views
A sub-clinical Necrotic Enteritis challenge was done on broilers up to 35 days of age. Probiotic was able to partly recover the growth depression observed in the challenged birds thanks to up-regulation of the genes involved in tight junctions or inflammation confirming improved intestinal integrity and reduced inflammation.
Regarding the gut microbiota, the challenge drastically reduced the microbial diversity which was restored by the probiotic with a significant promotion of Faecalibacterium and Butyricicoccus genus.
