Cyclic heat stress in combination with a challenging diet reduces broiler performance and modifies animal physiology
19 views
The study was designed to set up a cyclic heat stress model in conjunction with poorly digestible challenging diet rich in undigestible proteins and fibres in 22-42d finishing broilers. Cyclic Heat stress impaired performance with more impact on heavier birds but challenging diet already diminishing performance reduced the impact of heat stress. A higher level of ovotransferrin demonstrated that cHS broilers also exhibited inflammation.
