OH-methionine contains up to 25% as oligomers. Higher levels of oligomers have been obtained through vacuum treatment (50, 75 and 84%). When comparing growth performance, as bodyweight gain and feed conversion ratio, between DL-methionine, standard OH-methionine, or oligomer-enriched OH -methionine, all products gave the same performance even with the highest level of 84% oligomers.
These results confirm that the presence of oligomers is not a limiting factor in the absorption and metabolic use of OH-methionine.
