but you know in nature organisms are
never living isolated they are living
like us in populations with good ones
bad ones very efficient ones less
efficient others and so on
so in fact if we are able to determine
the best formula the best mix then it
must be very very efficient because for
example bacteria are everywhere in the
world they are everywhere in your body
on your body on your surface of your
body everywhere but another issue is
that if we manipulate this organism that
can be frightening you know many people
are afraid for example of GMOs the
difference in what we are doing in
industrial biotechnology is that we
don't release this organism in the
nature we use such modified organisms in
a bioreactor which is a contained system
and when they have operated the
production of a compound of interest
they are destroyed by heating so they
are killed so there is no risk of
dissemination of such organisms
convinced is not the right well I think
because if you say well I'm a scientist
I know what I say and you don't
understand anything you aren't dead you
know the the problem is to give more
explanations and to ask more questions I
think that in the case of genetically
modified plants in GMOs the problem is
that some companies have tried to go
very fast without saying what they were
doing and people don't like this
particularly in Europe or in France
again more but in other countries people
are not concerned by that so it's very
different in our case of Europe and no
friends I think that the only issue is
to ask as many questions as possible on
the meaning of what we are doing you
know in our case since the very
beginning of twb we have associated an
external view to the science and the
technological approach and Excel the
best external view the best people to
raise questions are philosophers and
sociologists so since the very beginning
we have one embedded philosopher in the
lab asking questions about our projects

target where is the added value and if
there is any risk then we stop

and to make it a greeter again we need
to use renewable resources that's the

economy even if you are very highly
motivated you know to preserve the Earth
from the climate change you will not

so when you have to compare compounds
which are produced at a low price by
chemistry and produced by a higher price
from renewable resources hey it doesn't
work you know people don't want they
want to preserve the planet but they
